TATIHOU ISLAND :

Tatihou, the magic of an island attracts sea birds, as well as anyone who is keen on history, nature and the environment. So much has taken place here : the Battle of the Hougue (1692) and building of the Vauban fort, the creation of a lazaret (1723), maritime laboratory (1887), sonatorium (1925) and eductional centre (1948).

SAINT-VAAST LA HOUGUE (1,5km)

To define the particular environment which reigns with St Vaast is not easy matter to achieve. This is its side smart seaside resort, its marina and its beautiful shops or on the contrary is this the authenticity of its fishing port, the animation of unloads fish and the spectacle coloured of bâteaux of fishing...

It is in fact certainly the successful alchemy of both. And when you know the name of all the bâteaux ones, venture you a little further in old St Vaast or towards the fort of Hougue and the émouvantre Chapelle of the Sailors who tells the history of those that the sea kept forever...
